Halana 2005, “a quality vintage”

Thanks to particularly good weather conditions – a cold winter by Moroccan standards, followed by a warm summer with cool nights at harvest time and just the right amount of rainfall – the grapes ripened perfectly, developing lovely rich, concentrated flavours.
Plot selection was conducted to make sure each variety of grapes was picked only when perfectly ripe, with a vinification process (including temperature control throughout) designed to produce wines with deep, clear colours, complex aromas and all the typical character of the grape varieties and the land they are grown on.

The Cabernet Sauvignon is most expressive with hints of fruit (blackcurrant and cherries), nice length in the mouth and cocoa flavours leading into a menthol finish with floral hints.

The Merlot is rounded and full, as usual, with strawberry and blackberry aromas and a slightly spicy touch (cinnamon).
The Syrah Reds offer fresh red fruit aromas with slight hints of exotic fruit mingling perfectly with spices (liquorice) and floral scents (jasmine).
The Syrah Rosé wines boast a delightful bouquet of wild strawberries, wisteria and melon, along with a nice exotic touch of mango and banana. Beautifully long lasting on the palate, they are smooth and harmonious, rich and full.
